INFORMATION: THE ANCIENT PROMISE OF HOPE
Isaiah 9:6-7 (NLT) – “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!”
God’s Track Record With Generational Promises
2 Peter 3:8-9 (NLT) – “But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
The Precision Of Prophetic Promises
Micah 5:2 (NLT) – “But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.”
INSPIRATION: ANCIENT PROMISES AS PRESENT CONFIDENCE
Romans 15:4 (NLT) – “Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.”
Understanding Generational Positioning
Joel 2:28 (NLT) – “Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.”
The Exceeding Nature of God’s Fulfillment
Ephesians 3:20 (NLT) – “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
MOTIVATION: ACTIVATING ANCIENT PROMISE CONFIDENCE
1 Kings 8:56 (NLT) – “Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.”
How God Operates:
Isaiah 46:9-10 (NLT) – “Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”
Three Types of Promise Partnerships:
1. Promise Receivers
2. Promise Preparers
3. Promise Fulfiller
TRANSFORMATION: GENERATIONAL PROMISE PARTNERSHIP
The Promise-Keeping God
Hebrews 10:23 (NLT) – “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
