The Starting Point
Every goal in life develops a system, then becomes a habit. But what happens when our habits no longer serve us well? The enemy wants you to believe change is impossible, but connection with Jesus is where transformation begins.
Romans 12:2 (NLT) – “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”
INFORMATION: God’s Design for Connection
The Key Word: ABIDE (Meno)
Meno (Greek) = to remain, to stay, to dwell, to continue in
Following Jesus isn’t about trying harder to be better. It’s about staying connected to the source of life Himself.
John 15:4-5 (NLT) – “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”
Understanding Sin
Hamartano (Greek) = to miss the mark (like an archer whose arrow doesn’t hit the target)
Sin isn’t just bad behavior—it’s anything that causes you to miss the mark of intimate connection with Jesus. When you’re disconnected from the Vine, everything suffers.
Sin breaks Personal Connection → Personal Connection = Revival
The Progression of Personal Revival
When you stay connected to Jesus:
- Your mind is transformed – Romans 12:2
- Chains break off you – Psalm 107:14
- Dead passion comes alive again – Psalm 51:12
- Old patterns lose their power – 2 Corinthians 5:17
- You can’t stop talking about what God is doing – Jeremiah 20:9
INSPIRATION: The Invitation – Jesus Wants YOU
Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG) – “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”
The invitation isn’t “clean up and then come.”
The invitation is “come and watch Me clean you up.”
MOTIVATION: Breaking Through Common Obstacles
Obstacle #1: “I Don’t Have Time”
Truth: Jesus isn’t asking you to add more to your schedule. He wants to walk through your day WITH you—morning commute, lunch break, everyday moments.
Research shows: 4+ days of 10 minutes in Scripture per week leads to:
- 30% decrease in loneliness
- 32% decrease in anger issues
- 40% decrease in bitterness
- 57% decrease in alcoholism
- 61% decrease in pornography use
- 228% increase in sharing faith
- 231% increase in discipling others
Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God”
Obstacle #2: “I’ve Failed Too Many Times”
Truth: Every time you come back to Jesus after falling, you’re demonstrating faith, not failure. Your mind is being transformed—present tense, ongoing action—as you remain connected to Him.
Proverbs 24:16 (NLT) – “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.”
TRANSFORMATION: Living as a Sent One
Key #1: Transform Your Mind
Romans 12:2 – Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think
Key #2: Strip Off the Weight
Hebrews 12:1 – Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up
Your Three Action Steps
1. THIS WEEK: Daily Connection
Take 5-10 minutes every morning this week—before you check your phone—and sit with Jesus.
- Read John 15:1-17 slowly
- Mark your calendar, set a reminder
2. DAILY/WEEKLY: Ask Jesus
Write down what He speaks to your heart:
- “What do You want to show me today?”
- Keep a simple journal of His responses
3. THIS MONTH: Join Community
Don’t walk this journey alone. Connect in a small group visit www.tc.church/groups to learn more or visit us at the Welcome Center.
Remember This
You can’t manufacture personal connection through willpower or religious activity.
Connection happens when you realize Jesus is always inviting you to identify old habits that no longer serve His plans and inviting you into deeper connection—which always results in better habits.
John 15:5 (NLT) – “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

Moses
Deuteronomy 31:7-8 (NLT) – Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him, ‘Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the LORD swore to their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land. 8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.’
Numbers 27:18-20 (NLT) – The LORD replied, ‘Take Joshua son of Nun, who has the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him. 19 Present him to Eleazar the priest before the whole community, and publicly commission him to lead the people. 20 Transfer some of your authority to him so the whole community of Israel will obey him.’
Joshua
Joshua 1:1-3 (NLT) – After the death of Moses the LORD’s servant, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, 2 ‘Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. 3 I promise you what I promised Moses: Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you.’
Joshua 21:43-45 (NLT) – So the LORD gave to Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. 44 And the LORD gave them rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the LORD helped them conquer all their enemies. 45 Not a single one of all the good promises the LORD had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had promised came true.
Joshua 24:31 (NLT) The people of Israel served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him—those who had personally experienced all that the LORD had done for Israel.
Elijah
1 Kings 19:4 (NLT) – Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. ‘I have had enough, LORD,’ he said. ‘Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.’
1 Kings 19:19-21 (NLT) – So Elijah went and found Elisha son of Shaphat plowing a field. There were twelve teams of oxen in the field, and Elisha was plowing with the twelfth team. Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak across his shoulders and then walked away. 20 Elisha left the oxen standing there, ran after Elijah, and said to him, ‘First let me go and kiss my father and mother good-bye, and then I will go with you!’ Elijah replied, ‘Go on back, but think about what I have done to you.’ 21 So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant.
Elisha
2 Kings 2:9 (NLT) – When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, ‘Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.’ And Elisha replied, ‘Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.’
2 Kings 2:14 (NLT) – He struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, ‘Where is the LORD, the God of Elijah?’ Then the river divided, and Elisha went across.
2 Kings 13:14 (NLT) – When Elisha was in his last illness, King Jehoash of Israel visited him and wept over him. ‘My father! My father! I see the chariots and charioteers of Israel!’ he cried.
John The Baptist
John 1:26-27 (NLT) – John told them, ‘I baptize with water, but right here in the crowd is someone you do not recognize. 27 Though his ministry follows mine, I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandal.’
John 3:30 (NLT) – He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
John 3:28-29 (NLT) – You yourselves know how plainly I told you, ‘I am not the Messiah. I am only here to prepare the way for him.’ 29 It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the bridegroom’s friend is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success.
Jesus
Matthew 11:11 (NLT) – I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!
Luke 4:18-19, 21 (NLT) – The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 19 and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come… 21 Then he began to speak to them. ‘The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!’
The Disciples
John 14:12 (NLT) – I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) – Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’
Sent Ones
Acts 2:41 (NLT) – Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.
Acts 17:6 (NLT) – Paul and Silas have caused trouble all over the world,” they shouted, “and now they are here disturbing our city, too.
Acts 4:13 (NLT) – The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.
Hebrews 13:7-8 (NLT) – Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Philippians 1:6 (NLT) – And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
John 20:19-23 (NLT) – 19 That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. 20 As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! 21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” 22 Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.
A Biblical Mindset For Church Membership
Sunday, January 4, 2026
John 13:3-5, 12-17 – 3 Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. 4 So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him. 12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? 13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. 15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. 16 I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. 17 Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.
Philippians 2:3-8 – 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. 5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
BARRIERS TO BREAKTHROUGH:
1. The Consumer Mindset
2. The Comparison Trap
3. The Busyness Excuse
4. The Hurt History
BREAKTHROUGH:
1. Change your pronouns
2. Identify one person and one need
3. Commit to consistency over intensity
December 28, 2025 – Vision Launch for 2026
KEEP PRAYING – DON’T GIVE UP
Matthew 7:7-8, 11 – “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened… your heavenly Father will give good gifts to those who ask.”
OUR MISSION & VISION
MISSION: To reach our communities locally and globally with the message of freedom and fullness found in Christ.
VISION: Gather → Grow → Go
- 2024: We gathered around Jesus
- 2025: We grew in what we believe
KEY VERSE
John 20:21 “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
THEME FOR 2026 “Sent Ones” – we go out with Jesus
SENT ONES: “Following Jesus, Sent On A Mission”
This one thing unlocks revival in our area: understanding that Jesus has empowered us as “Sent Ones” and we should spend our days following Jesus, sent on a mission.
INFORMATION: Jesus Empowers You
John 20:21-23 “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
FRAMEWORK FOR 2026:
- Your Identity → We are – Sent Ones
- You Are Empowered → We need – Holy Spirit
- Your Impact → Through obedience – Revival
INSPIRATION: Jesus Sends You
Romans 10:13-15 – “For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!””
FOUR CORE TRUTHS
- Jesus wants a deep and personal relationship with you
- Jesus wants you to share the GOSPEL – the GOOD NEWS
- Jesus wants to send you
- Jesus wants you to experience revival
MOTIVATION: Jesus Has A Work For You
Acts 13:1-4 – The Antioch Church Model
Acts 13:1-4 “Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon (called “the black man” he as from Niger- Africa), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul. One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way. So Barnabas and Saul were sent out by the Holy Spirit. They went down to the seaport of Seleucia and then sailed for the island of Cyprus.”
FOUR BATTLE STRATEGIES:
- COMMUNITY – Come together (diverse, committed to life together)
- FASTING – Position spiritually (serious about hearing from God)
- PRAYER – Align hearts with what God is already doing (don’t convince God to bless our plans – ask God to reveal His plans)
- WORSHIP – Create atmosphere where Holy Spirit speaks and gives direction
KEY TRUTH: Revival doesn’t start with a big event. It starts with preparation. It starts with positioning.
TRANSFORMATION – Jesus Calls You To Surrender
2 Chronicles 7:14 – “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

Key Scriptures
James 2:19 (NLT) “You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.”
James 2:26 (NLT) “Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.”
INFORMATION: When Faith Meets the Impossible
Luke 1:26-31 (NLT) – Mary’s Encounter “In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, ‘Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!’ Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. ‘Don’t be afraid, Mary,’ the angel told her, ‘for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.'”
Isaiah 7:14 (NLT) – Prophecy 700 years earlier “All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”
Matthew 1:18-21 (NLT) – Joseph’s Encounter “This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. ‘Joseph, son of David,’ the angel said, ‘do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.'”
1 Corinthians 1:27-28 (NLT) – God chooses the ordinary “Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.”
INSPIRATION: Faith vs. Fear in Impossible Situations
Luke 1:30 (NLT) “‘Don’t be afraid, Mary,’ the angel told her, ‘for you have found favor with God!'”
Luke 1:38 (NLT) – Mary’s Response “Mary responded, ‘I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.’ And then the angel left her.”
Matthew 1:24 (NLT) – Joseph’s Response “When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.”
2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

INFORMATION: THE ANCIENT PROMISE OF HOPE
Isaiah 9:6-7 (NLT) – “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!”
God’s Track Record With Generational Promises
2 Peter 3:8-9 (NLT) – “But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
The Precision Of Prophetic Promises
Micah 5:2 (NLT) – “But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.”
INSPIRATION: ANCIENT PROMISES AS PRESENT CONFIDENCE
Romans 15:4 (NLT) – “Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.”
Understanding Generational Positioning
Joel 2:28 (NLT) – “Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.”
The Exceeding Nature of God’s Fulfillment
Ephesians 3:20 (NLT) – “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
MOTIVATION: ACTIVATING ANCIENT PROMISE CONFIDENCE
1 Kings 8:56 (NLT) – “Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.”
How God Operates:
Isaiah 46:9-10 (NLT) – “Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”
Three Types of Promise Partnerships:
1. Promise Receivers
2. Promise Preparers
3. Promise Fulfiller
TRANSFORMATION: GENERATIONAL PROMISE PARTNERSHIP
The Promise-Keeping God
Hebrews 10:23 (NLT) – “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
