How Did Jesus See:
THE FATHER & HOLY SPIRIT?
The Father
THE FATHER WAS:
1. A Real Part Of Jesus’ Identity
John 1:1 (NLT) – “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 10:30 (NLT) – “The Father and I are one.”
2. A Real Role In Jesus’ Life
Mark 14:36 (NLT) – “Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
John 5:19 (NLT) – So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
3. A Real Reason For Jesus’ Coming
John 6:38 (NLT) – For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.
John 5:19 (NLT) – So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
The Holy Spirit
THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS:
1. Instrumental In His Birth
Matthew 1:18 (NLT) – This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.
2. Instrumental In His Ministry
Luke 4:1, 14 (NLT) – Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness… 14 Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. Reports about him spread quickly through the whole region.
Isaiah 61:1 (NLT) – The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
3. Instrumental In His Sacrifice
Romans 8:11 (NLT) – The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
