OPENING:
- Six weeks ago we started this journey to understand how Prayer Changes Everything — bringing hope, healing, and a path home to the Father.
INFORMATION: Ready For What Is Next
Isaiah 6:5 NLT — “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, ‘See, this has touched your lips. Your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.’ Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.'”
1. Preparing to be sent
- Isaiah didn’t volunteer out of ambition — he responded and acknowledged his situation. Out of repentance he received forgiveness, which prepared him to be sent.
- Psalm 51:10,12 NLT — “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me…Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.”
2. The choice: “Send me”
- The gap between Following Jesus and being Sent on a Mission is not in your ability — it’s in your availability. It’s your yes.
3. Prayer is the preparation
- Luke 6:12-13 NLT — “Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night. At daybreak he called together all of his disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles.”
- Prayer isn’t just a spiritual discipline — it’s preparation for what happens next.
INSPIRATION: What Happens Next
- Acts 1:8 NLT — “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
1. You’re not alone — You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.
2. Start where you’re at — Jerusalem first. Not the ends of the earth. Right where you are.
The ACT Framework from Sent on a Mission:
- AWARE — Be aware of the people God has put in your life
- CARE — Show them you care — don’t just say it, show it
- TELL — Share something personal. End with a conversation about Jesus.
- Revelation 12:11 NLT — “They have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.”
MOTIVATION: Take The Next Step
Obstacle: “I’m not sure how they will respond.”
Point 1 — You’re responsible for your obedience, not their response.
- 1 Corinthians 3 — “I planted the seed. Apollos watered it. But God made it grow.”
Point 2 — You don’t need a sermon. You just need your story.
- 1 Peter 3:15 NLT — “Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way.”
TRANSFORMATION: I Say Yes
Romans 10:9 NLT — “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
THREE CALLS TO ACTION:
- Today — Pray in faith: “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”
- This week — Take one ACT step: be AWARE, CARE by reaching out, TELL them what God has done in your life.
- This month — Read Sent on a Mission — a simple path to reaching the next one in your life.
