OPENING: A Valley Full of Bones

  • Ezekiel 37:1-3 NLT — “The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out. Then he asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones become living people again?’ ‘O Sovereign Lord,’ I replied, ‘you alone know the answer to that.'”
  • Ezekiel 37:11 NLT — “Then he said to me, ‘Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. They are saying, We have become old, dry bones — all hope is gone. Our nation is finished.'”

INFORMATION: God Is At Work

God invites us to align with what He’s saying — not just what we’re seeing

Point 1: God brings us into impossible situations so we stop trusting what we see and start trusting what He says

  • Have you ever prayed for something and after a while stopped expecting anything to happen? You still prayed — but something shifted. You went from believing to just going through the motions. That’s what happens in long valleys.

Point 2: Prophetic prayer is aligning with what God has already said

  • Prophetic prayer isn’t about making something happen. It’s about agreeing with what God has already said and aligning your prayers with His Word.
  • Romans 4:17 NLT — “That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, ‘I have made you the father of many nations.’ This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.”

Point 3: Only the breath of God brings life

  • Ezekiel 37:9-10 NLT — “Then he said to me, ‘Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.’ So I spoke the message as he commanded me, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their feet — a great army.”
  • Bones came together. Structure formed. But there was still no life. Because structure isn’t life. Only the breath of God brings life.

INSPIRATION: The Miracle Opens the Door

Personal Story 1 — The Valley

  • “God… we’ve been praying… and nothing is changing.”
  • God was still at work. Even when it felt like nothing was happening, God was still bringing people to life.

Personal Story 2 — The Missed Moment

  • Years ago I was managing a Christian store. A young guy walked in with a wrist brace. Before he left I asked: “Can I pray for you?” He said yes.
  • But here’s what hit me years later: I celebrated the miracle — but I never asked him: “Do you know Jesus?” I never told him why he was healed. I saw God move — but I missed the mission.

MOTIVATION: Join The Work

What’s Stopping You?

Obstacle 1: “I don’t feel like what I say matters.”

  • The power isn’t in your words — it’s in God’s Word you’re agreeing with. Ezekiel wasn’t inventing something. He was aligning.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT — “So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!'”

Obstacle 2: “I’m praying — but I don’t know if I should do anything else.”

  • God didn’t just give Ezekiel a message. He put him in the valley. Some of you are praying for people God is calling you to move toward. Not just speak over them — but step into their world.
  • Matthew 10:8 — “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy… freely you have received; freely give.”
  • He’s not just asking you to pray — He’s asking you to step in, to speak, to invite them home.

TRANSFORMATION: Sent Into The Valley

  1. Pray specifically — bring one name before God today.
  2. Move this week — don’t just pray. Text them. Call them. Invite them. You’re not just standing in the valley — you’ve been sent into it to speak life where others only see death.
  3. Say yes to the mission.
